五壹國際勞動節，又稱國際勞動節、勞動節，是世界上大多數國家的勞動節。節日源於美國芝加哥城的工人大罷工，為紀念這次偉大的工人運動，1889年的第二國際成立大會上宣布將每年的五月壹日定為國際勞動節。
中國中央人民政府政務院於1949年12月作出決定，將5月1日確定為勞動節。
今年3月22日，國務院辦公廳調整2019年勞動節假期安排，5月1日至4日放假調休，***4天。
