One man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages.?
At first the infant,? mewling and puking in the nurse's arms;? Then the whining school-boy, with his satchel, And shining morning face, creeping like snail ,Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad Made to his mistress' eyebrow.?
Then a soldier,Full of strange oaths, and bearded like the leopard, Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel, seeking the bubble reputationEven in the cannon's mouth.?
And then the justice, In fair round belly with good capon lined,with eyes severe and beard of formal cut,ull of wise saws and modern instances,and so he plays his part.
The sixth age shifts Into the lean and slippered pantaloon,with spectacles on nose and pouch on side,his youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide, for his shrunk shank,and his big manly voice,? turning again toward childish treble, pipes and whistles in his sound.?
Last scene of all,That ends this strange eventful history,? Is second childishness and mere oblivion;? Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans every thing.?

第六樣年齡，化作瘦削的，穿拖鞋的傻老頭。鼻子戴眼鏡，身邊掛錢袋好好的儲存的年少時代的褲子，對收縮了的小腿，已太寬松; 雄壯的嗓子 轉向小孩的高音,聽來象打呼哨。
最後的壹場戲，結束這變化莫測的戲劇的壹場，是再來的幼稚,全然的健忘。沒牙齒，沒眼力，沒口味,沒壹切。

《人生七階》的思想情感：
人生如戲，從嬰兒到老年都是自己的演員。關鍵句子就是“都有下場的時候，也都有上場的時候。”誰也不可能永遠在場上！
從歷史角度來看，那些風雲人物與名流，不都退出歷史舞臺了嗎？普通人，在場上就是經歷上學、就業、戀愛等等過程，老了就“沒有牙齒，沒有眼睛，沒有口味，沒有壹切。”這可憐的結局，就說明人生實際就是壹場悲劇。
那麽，我們要珍惜的就是在場的時間，扮演最好的自己。每個人沒有彩排，演得精彩則不負此生。
誰是觀眾呢？大家互相當觀眾，正如中國詩人卞之琳的詩句“妳站在橋上看風景，看風景的人在樓上看妳”。妳欣賞別人的精彩，別人也在欣賞妳的精彩；妳同情或者嘲笑別人的不幸，別人也會同情或者嘲笑妳的不幸。
死亡，將是落幕的時刻。
